About Us

Our story began in 2013, when we opened our family-run outdoor activity centre in the heart of the National Forest, near Lount in Leicestershire. What stood before us back then was not the thriving woodland you see today, it was a site in need of care, vision, and a lot of hard work. With a strong ethos centred around recycling, sustainability, and enhancing wildlife, we set out to transform the land into something special. Over the years, we’ve continually evolved the centre, always striving to improve both the environment and the experience we offer. In 2016, we introduced our first air rifle ranges, five lanes in total. What started as a simple idea quickly became something much bigger. People began travelling from across the UK, bringing their own equipment to spend a few peaceful hours shooting, relaxing, and escaping the pressures of everyday life. As the years went on, the centre grew into a bustling, lively destination. We welcomed corporate groups, stag and hen parties, birthday celebrations, and families looking for something different. Along the way, we were honoured to receive multiple awards and became known as a five-star venue where people could enjoy the outdoors in a safe, friendly environment. With demand increasing, we expanded further and added additional activities and more air rifle ranges. Like many businesses, we faced challenges, economic uncertainty, recessions, and the impact of COVID—but we adapted, pushed forward, and continued to grow. Then, on 2nd August 2024, everything changed. What started as a normal working day turned into a life or death situation. Clive, suffered a cardiac arrest while on site. I (Kelly), immediately began CPR, and luckily, we had a on-site defibrillator. The Air Ambulance Service arrived within 10 minutes, and Clive’s life was saved. After months of recovery and rehabilitation, the business continued, but the experience changed everything. In October 2025, following further health challenges within the family, we made the difficult but life-affirming decision to step back. We closed the large-scale activity centre, said goodbye to our incredible team, and chose a different path. Today, our focus is simple. We now specialise in air rifle and pistol range hire for people who already have their own equipment. It’s a quieter, more personal experience, one that allows us to really connect with our customers. While we earn far less than before, what we’ve gained is something far more valuable: time, balance, and a genuine sense of community. We’ve met some truly amazing people along the way and built lasting friendships. And although our journey has taken an unexpected turn, we are incredibly grateful for where it has led us. Life is short. And we’ve chosen to enjoy it.
